Notes - Polly Ann Murphy was first married to a William Murphy of Mississippi. There were children by this marriage. We do not know how many children she had by Mr. Murphy. He died in 1856 in Mississippi and she remarried Lawrence Hoots in 1862. We do not have any record of her maiden name.
Our family believe that both Lawrence and Polly are buried at Mt Zion Church Cemetery just west of the Millport to Vernon, AL. highway.
